Abstract

This collection of recipes describes the preparation of buffers and reagents used in Current Protocols in Pharmacology for cell culture, manipulation of neural tissue, molecular biological methods, and neurophysiological/neurochemical measurements.

    Recipes

  • Acid, concentrated stock solutions

  • Ammonium hydroxide, concentrated stock solution

  • EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid), 0.5 M (pH 8.0)

  • Ethidium bromide staining solution

  • Fetal bovine serum (FBS)

  • Gel loading buffer, 6×

  • LB medium (Luria broth) and LB plates

  • Potassium phosphate buffer, 0.1 M

  • Sodium phosphate buffer, 0.1 M

  • TE (Tris/EDTA) buffer

  • Tris⋅Cl, 1 M
